2022 Season Recap
What a season!
San Diego
The season opened with San Diego NOOD races in light, shifty conditions. Chick Pyle's Kea claimed first place, Sailhook finished second, and Larry Smith's PI placed third. The SDYC Yachting Cup followed — Kea winning again, Peter Cohran's Rhode Rage in second, and Thomas Shepherd's Kraken third.
Chicago / Great Lakes
The Chicago NOOD regatta attracted 11 boats. Jarrett Altmin's Soulshine won, followed by Antoni Czupryna's Erizo De Mar and James Clouser's Joie De Vie. The Chicago to Waukegan distance race saw Robert Nelson's Free Radical victorious, with Greg Rasmussen's FOG second and O'Haver's Northern Light third.
Major Races
The Chicago to Mackinac race featured 19 entries in severe weather conditions, with Jason Veatch's Veni Vidi Veatchi winning. Other significant events included the Georgian Bay Regatta, VERVE Cup (won by Soulshine), and the Beneteau First 36.7 World Cup in Helsinki, Finland, won by Joonas Sandholm aboard Arwen.
Season Finale
The North American Championship, hosted by the National Yacht Club in Toronto, crowned Richard Reid's Zingara as champion.
